I have to say I am not sure what the cardinal bird has to do with winter fun, although I do like the stamp.

Winter trees
Today's Sunday Stamps theme is Winter Scenes. A set of four different stamps was issued in 2014 titled Winter Fun.
Here are some envelopes I sent out where I used watercolors and ink to create a tree scene with a color to match the sky on these Winter Fun stamps that USPS issued in 2014.

Good match with the trees. I wondered about the cardinal too, but it's at least as good as the others.

ReplyDeleteWe have a pair of cardinals in the back yard - but no snow for them to look good against.
Deletenot all cardinals head south for the winter. We have a pair that lives here year round and we are in Boston. I was surprised to see these birds in a winter storm and called the local Audubon Society & they confirmed robins stay here also

ReplyDeleteWe have cardinals in winter, too. I was wondering how they were part of winter fun... maybe the fun is just watching them? Just seems not as related as the other stamps where people are doing things more actively.

I used a different color on yours to match the stamp. This is a very easy technique.
